This introductory course discusses the changes in the world of work brought about by digital technology. Students will examine the basic principles of organising work and the impact of digital transformation on them. The course will then analyze current phenomena, such as the automation-augmentation paradox, hybrid and remote work, gig work and work ecosystems. Finally, the course will discuss the future of work and its implications for organisations. By the end of the course participants will have gained a deep understanding of how digital transformation is reshaping the workplace and how they can contribute to change initiatives within their organisations. The course will use theoretical instructions, practical examples and case studies to develop a thorough understanding of working in a digital world.
